🔗 🧠 #16.5 Cool Stuff for Inspiration

Get a weekly dose of design inspiration

Five resources every week with actionable takeaways to make you a better designer.

This past week has been a little wacky and I didn’t have time to write up a full edition. So instead, we’ll try a bit of a trimmed down version without takeaways or a broader theme and just look at cool stuff. I think you’ll want to take a peek at what we have here.

INSPIRATION THROUGH HISTORY AND CULTURE

When you’re in a creative rut, sometimes getting inspiration outside of what you see every day is a must. Digging into history and different cultures is a great source of getting some fresh takes. This is a neat site full of Vietnamese graphic design to scratch that itch.

NEW YEAR NEW YOU

Notion launched this back at the beginning of January, but ICYMI—you can build your very own Notion avatar for that new headshot you’ve been putting off getting.

CRYPTWHO?

Remember crypto? Is it still a thing? Even if you’re not convinced you want to invest your money into it—invest some of your time getting inspiration from the sites that were built around the hype. They are pretty nifty.

JOIN THE PATTERN CLUB

Patterns, shapes, & textures are the surefire way to zhuzh up (yes, that is how it’s spelled) your sites or products. Take a gander at this neat collection of those things.

ROBOT VS HUMAN SHOWDOWN

Okay this isn’t a website of inspiration, but it is bound to be an interesting event. Two people battling it out to create the best design using two different models of designing.

Henrik from Lovable using prompts to design with AI vs. Brett from DesignJoy using WebFlow to build manually. Today @ 11PT/3ET, watch for the 45 mins to see what happens to all of our jobs.
